Eleanor Wing Final Photos
For this series, I photographed places at night that looked empty or abandoned. I especially gravitated to places that were mundane or liminal—-meaning they existed as a midway point between two actual destinations. By taking these pictures, I wanted to draw attention to the places often overlooked by presenting them as interesting or surreal. I thought the best way to give this effect was to photograph at night and use the artificial light to highlight the isolation present. My biggest problem by far was figuring out how to correctly take the photos at night and balance the brightness of the artificial light with the overall darkness. At first, I didn’t use a tripod and the images were very low quality and I struggled with the light balance to make both the lights and surroundings visible. Also, I wasn’t completely sure how to achieve the mood I was going for, but I started looking for inspiration in other photographers capturing similar subjects at night and how they composed their photos which helped a lot for my own photographs. I felt a little embarrassed taking photos of gas stations etc. at first so I was a little uncomfortable setting up tripods but once I got over that I think the quality of the photos improved. When I starting using a tripod it became a lot easier because I could use 10 or 15 second exposures which allowed me to capture more light and create more surreal scenes. I also started taking the photos with a darker light balance and then editing the photos with a lower contrast lighter blacks, which meant the artificial lights weren’t extremely blown out but you could still see the environment. If I could do this again, I would have liked to travel more in rural Pennsylvania to find more interesting places to photograph—-I went to Williamsport this weekend and on the drive there, I found loads of spots that I would’ve liked to explore and photograph in this same style. I’m pretty satisfied with this final set but I think my best photos came toward the end of the project when I started to get a hang of it and I wish I had gotten to that point earlier in the semester. I had a lot of fun taking these and definitely would continue with this theme although I think next, I would want to start exploring portrait photography as it’s something I’m pretty poor at and would like to improve.

Quinn Final project Paragraph 12 photos
Hi my name is Quinn I’d like to tell you about my photos. The first thing you notice is all Quinn’s photos were taken in black and white with a focus on the darks being on the darker end of the spectrum. This gives Quinn’s photos a feel of higher contrast when I have something like a light source in my photo. Almost every photo was taken outdoors of man made things like buildings, and structures. All the photos taken were captured when the sun was out to give the most interesting shadows, highlights, and reflections. Quinn was inspired by photographer Jaromir Funke want wanted to take his cubism smaller scale work and bring it to the next level on a larger scale. Quinn’s photos are very geometric with basic shapes like rectangles, triangles and arches. All the photo scenes are larger than a human figure in terms of scale of the whole scene. Photos range from use of perspective looking up or down at man man structures to upright and straight to using dutch angles to make each photo interesting and unique.

Jessica Sallurday - Final Project Paragraph
For
the final assignment, I want to photograph portraits of people, with a focus on
facial expressions. This is a project I’ve wanted to do for a long time. I’m
drawn to this idea because a person’s face holds a lot of emotion and I’ve
always found capturing those emotions really intriguing. While I prefer color,
I think I’ll use black and white to help show contours in their faces. I’ll
wait and see which looks better once I start fine tuning and printing.
Raymic Santana Final Project Paragraph
For my final project I'm planning to make a collage on my sneaker collection. Individual pictures of sneakers would be taken as a model possibly performing different poses. The pictures will be taken in different sceneries representing the name of the shoe or just admiring the location it's taken. Each sneaker has a unique name in which I plan on using it to my advantage to create the scenery. I feel that finding some particular props that'll represent the name of the shoes might be a challenge but overall will keep the images from being repetitive and boring. With that being said some sneakers have pointless names that will be difficult to represent with something so I'll take photographs of those admiring the scenery.
Quinn Ross - Final Paragraph project
I want to do human photography because I think people are interesting. I am social and like human interaction. I want pictures to be nature based. Something in the scene is off in a way and there are various colors in the scene. I think the hardest part will be finding human. I wont get tired of it because I might combine my pictures of people with cars.
