Colin Gallagher Paragraph

For my final photographs of the semester I would like to explore night photography in a way that creates an sense of mystery and drama through lights and shadows. I recently bought a tripod and wanted to use it to create images that require it. The content of my images will focus on the way light interacts with it's surroundings at night. I would also like to incorporate a model in some of these images to show the contrasts of light and dark. My main inspiration is the cinematography genre film noir which is based around the idea of creating a mood through black and white imagery. To achieve this style I will have to explore different locations that have strong light sources. This could be anything from street lights to the lights outside a building. I don't want these to just be images that have good contrasts of blacks and white, I want the contrasts to be used in a way that creates a mood and sense of mystery. Since I am only using available lights, one challenge I will face is finding areas around here where I can use these light effectively to portray the mood that I am going for.
