Emily Adar - Final Portfolio

I have been thinking about what I want to photograph for the rest of the semester and knew that it definitely would have a subject matter of people. During my Joyce Tennesson exploration I discovered how truly enamored I am with the human body and through Eric’s comments and my own realization, I now understand that for me to reach my full potential in photography, I need to be in charge of the entire scenario and all aspects of the photograph. I still want to photograph the human body, but I also want to include the mental and emotional aspect of the brain and how it functions as well. I have been having a really difficult year and I want to use this project as a sort of self expression about how the body looks on the outside and can be something completely different on the inside or how the mind and body can match. To execute this I want to have human models pose in front of a projector. Their physical body will represent how they look to others on the outside and the projection will portray what is going on in their mind/their psyche/subconscious. I think the project will range from lovely to somewhat disturbing images, and will me a chance for me to express myself, use multiple forms of media and lighting, and kinda just see where it takes me.
