Victoria Anderson - Final Portfolio Paragraph

For my final portfolio of photographs I would like to go in a different direction than anything that I have done this semester and work on exploring the idea of the "self". After a lot of thought I came to acknowledge how uncomfortable I am being in front of the camera and I think that is something that comes through in my photographs. I want to explore the personal aspects of photography and how they translate through self portraits, but I also want to try and incorporate other aspects of my own life into those self portraits possibly with the use of text alongside the photographs. I think that this could be something that I photograph for the rest of the semester in an interesting way because of the fact that it is something completely new to me and I don't expect it to be easy. Self-portraiture will be challenging and hopefully allow me to produce some interesting and dynamic works that investigate myself as an individual but also create a new insight for the viewers.
